Amtrak’s New Study

Amtrak is making a study to create a more efficient way to commute between Austin and San Antonio. Currently it can take from 2 hours to 3 driving with all the traffic in the highways. If you decide to take the Amtrak train it takes about 2 and a half hours and it is only scheduled once a day therefore it is not very efficient for people who have to commute for work.
This study would show how much would need to be invested to allow the tracks to have higher speed trains and with this making a different train schedule that would have trains every 30 minutes in rush hour and every hour the rest of the day. Amtrak's vision is also a lot bigger.
Eventually, they want to connect the tracks to make a trip from Austin to Laredo and on to Monterrey with these high speed trains.
