Through funding from the State Energy Conservation Office this project will produce medium-scale and small-scale solar energy in prototype buildings on the UTSA Campus that can be replicated in colleges and residential neighborhoods throughout the state of Texas. Solar installations are already on their way at the UTSA 1604 Campus. Sensors for real time fault monitoring will be integrated, to provide energy usage feedback, and a centralized energy information kiosk. The goal is to reach an annual production of 242 mega-watt-hours of energy and generate a potential savings of $65,000 per year for UTSA.
