Loyd Wright is a manager at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station for Southern California Edison He is currently responsible for the developing the license renewal application that can be submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Loyd is a 34-year veteran of the energy industry.
During his career at San Onofre, Mr. Wright has also worked as the engineering support group manager, performance monitoring and reliability engineering supervisor, and as a test operations supervisor. As test operations supervisor he was responsible for the initial startup testing of Unit 3 from loading fuel to full power operation.
Loyd received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He is a licensed professional engineer in California in both electrical and nuclear engineering. He has been an active member of the American Nuclear Society (ANS), he has served on the National Board of Directors and as the national treasurer and Chair of the Operations and Power Division. He has been responsible for organizing several ANS conferences, including as General Chairman of the ANS Annual Meeting in 2000. Currently, he is serving on several national committees, including Finance, Planning, Membership and Professional Divisions.
