CPS Energy

The CPS Energy-UTSA Energy Research Alliance was created in 2010 to support the CPS Energy 2020 goals and objectives related to developing a cost competitive, diverse and reliable generation portfolio that is fully coupled with initiatives to increase energy conservation and enhance energy efficiency.  The CPS Energy- UTSA Energy Research Alliance will mitigate risks associated with advances in new technology deployed to improve grid reliability, enhance grid security and sustained performance, and will promote integration of innovative research into the generation, transmission and distribution sectors in a mindful manner. Many of these advances can have significant meaningful impact on long-term grid performance, energy delivery and reliability. The CPS Energy-UTSA Energy Research Alliance also actively engages across San Antonio and the Alamo Region to promote sustainability education and awareness.
